About the Artist
Joelle Kharrat’s debut collection launched in her home country of Lebanon in 2022, following a career in Paris in the fashion industry. This Totem collection features sculptural stacking elements representing Earth (ebonized wood), Air (solid gold), Water (mother-of-pearl), and Fire (incorporated gemstones). The collection has earned accolades across the fine jewelry world with features in Vogue, Monocle, Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair, Bazaar India, Robb Report, Elle, and more.
Asked “why totems?” the designer notes, “in a world that is breaking up, dividing, they are the emblem of consolidation and robustness. It is also a celebration of the Lebanese artisan’s talent, creativity, meticulous work.” Further, the totems are inspired by the Lebanese sculptor Saloua Raouda Choucair’s work.
